Jose E. Alonzo

President - Founder

jose.alonzo@artnv.com

Jose Alonzo is originally from Los Angeles, CA and is no stranger to the performing arts. Since his early teens he has been featured in over 40 productions. His resume includes: plays, dance, children’s theater, musicals, and short films.

Jose is excited for ARTNV, all its potential, and the dreams that will come to be. He looks forward to sharing has passion for the stage while helping make a positive impact in the Las Vegas community.

Theater is bold, its controversial, and confrontational. Theater allows us to think, to question, to change lives. Jose believes that performance can, and often does play to our particular concerns. Whichever may be the journey, the important part is to go on one. If for a moment he can suspend disbelief, and help others defy their gravity then he is sure they have experienced a night of exceptional theater.

Jose would love to thank his family and his friends who have supported him every step of the way. A special thanks to his best friend who believed in him, before he did. Above all he would like to thank God for all the talents he has blessed him with.

Angela Matthews

Vice - President

angela.matthews@artnv.com

Angela is originally from “The Friendly City” of Lomita California. She lived in San Fernando Valley, and also spent a few frozen years in the suburbs of Detroit before moving to Las Vegas in 2014.

Angela loves the performing arts because it is a way to share our experiences and perspectives. Some issues are easier to approach within the creative atmosphere that theater provides.

In elementary school, Angela’s first experience on stage started at Harbor City Community College playing in Free to be Me and You. She continued to perform through middle school and high school where she competed with rival schools in theater competitions. She performed in How to Eat Like a Child and Once Upon a Mattress as well as I Never Saw Another Butterfly and The Odd Couple.

Vicki was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. Her love for dance was inspired by her tap-dancing father and she began dance at an early age. After living in Los Angeles and New York, she began her professional career working on luxury cruise liners as a dancer. She then spent 15 years traveling the world and dancing. She has always loved theater and going to live performances and is so grateful to be part of ARTNV.

Matthew Lusk

Technical Director

matthew.lusk@artnv.com

Matthew was born in a small town in South Dakota. He spent a few years in Missouri in his early teens before his family moved back to the same town in which he was born. At the age of 23, he moved to Southern California, spending his last few years there soaking up the sun in beautiful Palm Springs. In December of 2018, Matthew moved to Las Vegas to start a new chapter in his life. It is here that he cultivates his newfound love for the arts.

“Growing up, I never had an interest in theater or musicals. I remember my sisters would watch the old movies, but I had no desire get involved.” It wasn’t until he had the privilege of seeing his first Broadway musical that his viewpoint changed. The show was Wicked, being performed at The Pantages Theater in Los Angeles. “That show changed my life. It opened my eyes to the magic of theater and the performing arts. Watching a story come to life right in front of you, live and in person, is something everyone should experience.” Since then, he has had the opportunity to see numerous other shows, each one affecting him in a different way. “Every time I see a show I am moved in a different way. I think that’s part of the magic of theater; its ability to draw you in and touch you somewhere deep inside. And everyone experiences it in their own way. We each walk away with a different feeling, a different viewpoint, with different emotions and connections to different characters.”

As Technical Director for ARTNV, Matthew oversees many aspects of the productions. These include set design and construction, lighting, audio/video, and safety. As a previous construction worker, welder, electrician and A/V installer, Matthew brings many skills to the team to help make each production its own little masterpiece. But it’s his experiences as a child that really drive his creativity and passion. “Growing up, I used to love going to my grandparent’s house. One, because grandma could cook! But two, because grandpa had a woodworking shop in the garage. I would spend hours out there sanding and carving and cutting. It didn’t usually amount to much, but I loved every minute of it. To this day, any time I am working with wood I am taken back to that little shop and imagine myself working side by side with grandpa again.”

Kai was born and raised in Hawaii and from an early age, discovered his love for music and singing.  In 2011, Kai moved to Las Vegas where he spent nearly five years as a singer at the Stratosphere on the Las Vegas strip.  Kai enjoys experiencing live theater and looks to someday fulfill his dream of playing Tom Collins in his favorite musical, "Rent"!  As the Director of Marketing for ARTNV, Kai looks forward to utilizing the latest and best social media platforms, as well as innovative marketing concepts, in an effort to make ARTNV a household name among theater lovers here in the Las Vegas valley.
